Bio
Kevin Dorsey was born and raised in a musical family in Minnesota. At age 8, Kevin began studying piano, at age 10, with help from his brother, he began composing. Kevin has gone on to study voice, bass guitar, audio production, and even tuba; receiving a Bahcelor of Arts Degree from the University of Denver & The Lamont School Of Music, in Piano & Political Science.
After completing college in the spring of 2006 Kevin moved back to the Minneapolis area to be closer to his family and friends. In 2007 Kevin founded 'the Histronic' with two of his closest friends. The Histronic has gone on to see success, including their debut album being called "the best jamband album of the year," by jambands.com. The Histronic has had the honor of sharing the stage with notable acts like Bernie Worrell from Talking Heads & Parliament-Funkadelic, Umphreys McGee, Keller Williams, EOTO (Member of String Cheese Incident), Lotus, Particle, Break Science, and BoomBox. The Histronic has released 3 full length albums, and is currently working on a new release.
In 2014 Kevin partnered with YMCA Camp Warren to create an album that encapsulated the music of camp life. Featuring 9 tracks, and an all alumni band consisting of 17 different musicians, the record has been a huge success with all of the proceeds go toward sending kids to camp.
You can currently see Kevin playing with the Histronic, Midwest Jam Collective, The Regulars, and other Minneapolis area bands. When he is not gigging (or fishing), you can find him at his recording studio, "Milkhouse Audio" in Plymouth, Minnesota.
